heat range or something and maybe gap. but my longtime buddy-very experienced mechanic says its just not recommended to go bosch platinum in yota's nissans shitsubishi---------------------------- denso all the way.

I've run bosch plugs in lots of vehicles, and never had a check engine light come on because of it. Which is why I ask.

The manual says your plugs will last 100,000 miles.

p0300-p0306(muilt mis-fire #1-#6) not always the plug to blame after-market tune-ups sucks. its alway good to use oem parts when it comes to your eng. or brakes, ect.ect

Interesting. Personally I like NGK's anyway, but these issue are curious considering (in theory) that it wouldn't be smart of Bosch to claim a plug is compatable and have it not be so.

I ran Bosch plats in a 1991 Nissan truck (might have been a 90). Ran just fine for 2 years like that.. until it was stolen.

It seems that most of the evidence regarding this issue is anecdotal, there have been some specific possible reasons pointed to but it seems like nobody has done any serious investigation into this.

I agree that after-market tune-ups suck though, the people at a lot of those places (not all) don't know what they are doing. And the data they have can be incorrect. The primary application I develop includes use of the Chek-Chart system (for those that don't know it's a database of service data for all vehicles). Every new release we have to kick it back to Chek-Chart for defect fixes, sometimes several times. So these folks in some cases may be using wrong data. Scary.
