Things we've all done to increase HP AND MPG!!!

I wanted to start a thread with a list of things people on this forum with the 1st generation trucks have done to help increase HP while also increasing gas mileage no matter how small of a dent was made.

I kind of want this to be a guide of sorts for people to get ideas and share the ideas they have had/actually done

the main focus here is increasing HP while ALSO increasing MPG, but do feel free to throw in other things you have done to your trucks that fall into these two categories

Please list the specs of your truck too!!

enjoy!!

Here is a list of things I have done to my truck so far

1999 Frontier XE, v6, manual, 4x4

* Intake
* exhaust
* Dual E-fans(removed stock clutch fan)
* Removed A/C compressor(Clutch on this wore out so I got rid of it, has increased MPG noticeably)

not sure if a repost or not but....

04 xe 4x4 v6 auto
K&N FIPK intake
magnaflow cat back
future plans...
high flow y pipe, headers and JWT cams

my MPG IMO did raise but i'd still like to get a tad bit better.

ONE word Knock sensor workaround

2000,v6,5sp,crew cab xe,84000 miles

Just dont ask me how to do it, ive posted 5 times on this subject yahoo or google search. 570k total resistor from radio shack 100k plus 470k =570k

If i had to guess 2mpg maybe more on freeway.

2003 KC XE 5 spd I4 2wd
-K&N drop in filter
-cat back exhaust 50 series blowmaster

the most gas mileage increase I got was from driving slower, accelerating more gradually, coasting more, driving with the window up and the fan on, staying a constant speed on the freeway and so forth. when i put my new wheels and tires on (some day, some day......) my mileage will decrease but ill probably still have around 24.

my frontier is a 1998, 4 cyl, 5 sp, 4x4: mods (maintainance) include: tune up (new plugs, air/fuel filters, injector service) i try to shift at 2500-3000 rpms usually. i also only use 93 octane gas. here in ct, they use winter gas from october thru april that is supposed to burn cleaner, but also reduces gas milage by about 15-20%. i was getting about 14-16 miles city with the winter gas, now i'm getting 18-20 with regular gas. i thought that was kind of low milage. any thoughts??
