Just remove the philips head screw and pull. There is nothing else holding it in. There is a rubber o-ring that seats when the sensor is installed that is probably just sticking to the housing of the t-case. A twisting motion may help dislodge it.
Before you condemn the sensor, make sure that your harness has not been chaffed. Some trucks have issues with the metal clips on the transmission chaffing the wires and grounding out the speed sensor. Put a voltmeter on the plug pins for the sensor and spin it. If you get AC voltage it might still be good. I do not remember what the output voltage should show on that.
