Sensor 1, Bank 1

Hi, I have a 03 sve with 86000 miles on it. I was recently trying to degrease the engine bay. I use engine degreaser and alittle water to clean it. After I connected the battery back and started the truck I got a ses light. I .tried disconnecting the battery and waiting 30 mins or so, but it did not go away.

I took it to autozone and their scanner said it was o2 sensor 1, bank 1. Which sensor is this? passenger side or driver side and before or after cats.

I assume it is before the cats, because that is the only ones that got wet. I know the sensor got wet but maybe the connectors on the passenger side valve cover aswell.

I thought I could wet the entire engine minus the intake and distributor, but I guess not. Some how it must have shorted when I started the truck. It was not entirely dry.

But, if anyone knows which sensor this is please chime in. Thanks.

If it were me and the truck was not running weird I would give it a couple of days to dry out. I have never had this problem with washing the engine and I'm talking taking it to a car wash and hosing the crap out of it.

Sensor one bank one should be in the exhaust manifold, let see if someone else knows.

sensor one is your upsteam sensors
sensor two is your down stream sensor
bank one is right side of motor
bank two is left side of motor

always remember this is from sitting in your drivers seat looking foward NOT looking at the motor with your hood open

2002 CC LB SE SC Nismo cai, gibson exhaust, brush gaurd, billet grill, bedlined roof rack, bedlined running bars, gauge pod w/air fuel ratio & boost gauges, 5% tint all around, hella aux driving lights, WRP grounding kit, led 3rd brk light, modded 4th led strip, loose nut behind the wheel !!

I have the same error and want to do it myself. Anyone know the difficulty level and any more specifics on how to do this.

Also, will this harm anything running it like this?
