really important question
ok, soooooooo i was an idiot and didnt need a new power steering pump (fluid was low) sooo now that money is going towards a set of shocks.
im going to get the pro comp 9000 or 3000 shocks, and i want to do a torsion bar/shackle lift, but will these still work? people were telling me that you can still use the stock shocks for the torsion/shackle lift, and the pro comps are stock length, soo probally i can use em.. maybe???????? im just trying to cover my bases so later on im not buying another set and my dad has used the pro comps before and loved emmmm so im going this route ohh and sry for posting this again, but when i asked a lil while ago, nobody really responded to this question thanks in advance to anyone that has input

With a shackle lift and torison bar lift there is no need for longer shocks. Your stock shocks will work fine. If you are thinking about doing a lift over 2"-4" then you would need longer shocks. If you do that lift just consider what you will do in the future in terms of lift. If you are going to get a bigger lift with a single aal or 3 piece aal, hold off on the shocks cause you'll need them later but for shackles and t-bar crank, your stock shocks will work fine.

I would go with longer rear shocks if nothing else... If your going to use shackles for lift, you will have TONS of potential flex, that will be drastically limited by shock legnth... by getting longer shocks, your truck will flex way better.....
up front there is no real reason to get longer shocks, however it couldn't hurt to get shocks rated at 0-2" lift

A friend lifted his Chevy using a Pro Comp lift but bought Rancho shocks and sold the Pro Comp shocks. He sold him because he never heard anything about the shocks and he just trusted Rancho shocks more. I'm sure the shocks will do fine but do as they said and get extended ones.
