In response to the duct tape.
Check your motor mount. The way that the hose lets loose or gets ripped is because the motor mount popped.

I'm going to try a couple other ideas before pulling the intake.

Looks like a 12" extension, universal joint and a 5/8" spark plug socket

one more thing. where are you inserting the socket? infront of the intake im assuming?

yeah, i mean the length of the 5/8 socket. I had one that was a good 1/2 longer than the other

socket is 2-1/2 , swivel is 2-1/8 and extension is 9-1/2

just to give you a heads up i did this at night so dont remember all the details lol

socket is 16MM

i helped a guy with a BL yesterday on his 04 and it looked a lot easier to change spark plugs on his than SC so if i didnt have to remove intake on the SC , shouldnt have to on the regular engine

thanks again man. Im gonna go give er another shot. Sorry for being so needy. I just wasted my whole day saturday and a few hours yesterday. Wish me luck!!!

I finally did it!!! I got # 4 out after 3 days. I attached a vaccuum tube to my shop vac and then my air compressor to clean out around the socket. Then got a rubber mallet and bashed the socket down over the plug. Here you see the after math. I broke the u joint it was so tight in the engine, then i broke the socket on my final turn!!! 3 best moments in my life are the birth of my son, the day i got married and getting this damn thing out after 3 days!!! No more missing and she runs like a beaut!!!

And a big thanks to the guys that offered advise and went to the trouble to helping me. I think I will do it again now that I know I can do it. I actually pulled the other 5 out before this one again tonight to check and see how much grit was in the threads., Quite a bit. . . so I cleaned them out again and reapplied the anti seize. Thanks to mountaineer and penski61 especially!!!

whew!

ha congratulations. Yeah, when you go through the mud and stuff, your plugs can get pretty dirty for some reason
