Questions about my new purchase 2000 4X4 Frontier
I brought home the truck last week. It has 98000 miles on her. 3.3 liter 4X4 with the extra cab. Very clean, almost looks new. Exterior is a light tan as is the interior. Really nice little truck. The day I brought it home I put some new tires on. It had 235's and I went up to 265's. Fills out the wheel wells nicely. I've noticed a few problems. The radio antenna is broken, I got to it and think I have to remove the cable from the rear of my radio to replace the whole unit. Is this right? Checked the radiator fluid and it was literally brown with rust. I dumped it, flushed with water, dumped that and refilled with fresh. Still rusty. Brought it to the shop around the corner to perform a power flush, they ran 32 quarts through it and filled with fresh. Suggested I have it flushed again in a few hundred miles. Ok, no biggie. They then went on to say they heard a "noise" from my distributor, they think its going. Want 500 bucks to install a new distributor and gearing. They also said I have a intake maniflod gasket leak. My question is this. I have had ALL Mopars my whole life, I've installed water pumps, shocks, all maitenance fluid changes, brakes, adjusted valves, you get the picture. Pretty much light duty stuff, but I'm fairly handy. Is the distributor and intake manifold gasket within reason? Is it crazy hard or not?

Up to you but for sure learn about the vehicle first
I just fixed my rattle tossed hose clamp exaust heat sheild badda bing two minutes fixed. Check your knock sensor at autozone no cell lights come on. i fixed mine five bucks with resistor mod. The ks is tough to replace $800. Check your front shocks mine where bad even though they past push down test. Autozone is the hookup. I myself dont trust ASE doods, also you need to get milemarker 435s for 96 pathfinder Autozone

I also have no antenna.. I have not really given much thought into fixing it.. But if you do and it's not too hard let me know.. These trucks have bad manifolds.. cracks and gasket leaks.. You should be able to do most of the work yourself.. Get a book first.. You should probably do a new thermostat soon being that there was lots of rust.. which leads me to think you had mostly water in there.. With the distributer.. change the cap and rotor.. see if the noise stops.. If not I would drive it until either A: It starts running poor. or B: until I was able to get a used one or one for a good price.. PS:CRDLIBERTY please take one second to look over your post's before you submit them.. You are hard as he!! to follow man..Great source of info, but hard to follow
