Hello and welcome. I have had my T-bars adjusted for about 3 years now and had no problems. If your friend is going to get an aftermarket bumper like a shrockworks then I would look into aftermarket torsion bars because they have a higher spring rate and will help with the added weight of the bumper or you cold try re-indexing them. Here is a link that might help you out also 1st Gen FAQ...PLEASE READ. ADD INPUT

welcome man, i never heard anything negative about cranking up the torsion bars. im guessing there some good rivalry between you and your buddy and fellow taco buddies.
