the VG33 is underpowered but that sould help you make some more power, less then 15 total though. Also if you're looking for more power might want to look into JWT's cams

less than 15 is fine im after big torque gains also i've noticed the vg33 is torquey tho it just looses power after a certain rpm mainly in the upper range. i've also thought about cams but with 35,000 miles on the stock lifters and springs wouldn't i need to upgrade them also with the more aggressive camshaft?

yeah you should any time you get a new cam

thanks for the input irongrave. i've also thought about taking the heads off and have them ported and polished but the machining and the labor is very pricey maybe sometime in the near future but the camshaft upgrade does sound interesting

a port and polish job is meh, the advances in casting you really dont get the power you used to with a head job. It cant hurt to get it done and do the cams at the same time providing you have something else to drive

your magnaflow cat back didn't have a good Y pipe?
google "extrude hone" -if you do this to your intake/exhaust manifolds i was told by the company that does it says you can expect 30% better air flow from each. runs about $650 per application, but can be very benefitial. and there would be no need to get headers. cams and a large bore throttle plate from SLR is said to be good for 35 hp. paired with a cold air and cat back, you should be able to break 'em loose pretty easy.
