Lubricate all locks/hinges

The maintenance schedule suggests I lubricate all locks & hinges. Having had older vehicles eventually develop problems in these areas, I figure it's a good idea.

Maybe I'm over-thinking this, but I wonder what the best lube(s) & methods are to achieve this without doing more harm than good.

EDIT: BTW, I have an '04 2wd 2.4l XE kingcab

I recommend white lithium grease for the hinges and latches. As for the key cylinders, graphite powder would be better than oily or greasy lubes.

x2 on the white lithium for hinges and latches.

A Silicone or Teflon lube will work as well or better than graphite for the locks and no black/messy keys. Silicone and Teflon dry after application so no sticky junk in the cylinder.

Yeah, I was worried about spraying a messy lube into the locks. Thank you both for the advice.
