I got the new sliders all finished and mounted. I bolted them on, but I think I'm going to get them welded to the frame on the bottom just for a bit of extra strength. My driveway is on a hill, so I didn't do the hi-lift jack test for pics, but I'll take one next time i'm resting on one of them on a trail.

I'm super happy with them, we used the stock holes for the front and back legs, so i only had to drill 2 new holes for the middle leg. Other then being black (instead of silver), they look and work like the stock running boards/steps... just stronger now.

Thanks everyone for the tips.

Looking good. You might want to put some grip tape on top of the slider for safety when people get in out of the truck using them as a step

x2 with TxFront, most have some sandpaper like material on them to provide grip on the top of the rail to prevent foot sliders could you take a pic of how they are mounted to the frame? they look pretty good from the pics you've shown

Just go to a hardware store and get a roll on bedliner and hit the top of it. It'll hold up real good and serve it's purpose.

my sliders are tube/rail combo. welded to the frame at three points and gusseted for strength. very low profile- and very functional!

edit- just saw that you already did them.
you might want to bring them in a little bit so they don't get you hung up- unless you wanted them to be steprails as well.

What do you mean bring them in? like closer to the body? Or put an angle on them? But ya, I went with this design so they could act like the steprails as well (gotta keep the wife happy ) But I am willing to change them a bit if they'll work better, so I'm open to more suggestions.

Right now they are just bolted on using the old holes for the stock step rails... but once i'm sure they are perfect, I'm going to weld them on, probably just run one bead (is that the right term?) along the bottom to add strength when I'm using them to jack or resting on them, keep them semi easy to remove if I need too.

Sorry HKYStormFront, I can't take any pics right now, my camera found its way to the bottom of a mud puddle, as I was jumping out to take a pic of the same mud puddle... maybe I offended the mud gods in some way, lol

The grip tape is an excellent idea, good call.
