Looking for Pics/Ideas for Sliders

I have the opportunity to spend some time with my grandpa who has a garage full of tools and machinery for working with metal. I don’t see him that often, but I asked him if he would show me a few things, including teaching me how to weld.
So I need a project, and I was thinking about some new side step/rock sliders, especially since I bent the crap out of the stock running boards.
I see a few threads about them, and I’m compiling pictures and what not. But I’m looking for MORE pictures of people rock sliders they’ve made or purchased for the First Gen, so that I can put together some drawings and a design so I can do this properly. Pictures would be awesome, but so would any spec sheets or any measurements or dimensions you might have from your own projects.
Also looking for any suggestions/tips!
Thanks!
-Brad

The biggest mistake people make when making sliders is they don't use square tube. Look at the shorkworks one and they use square tube.

Just curious... Why do you say square?

more surface to slide on. it's harder for the slider to slide off the rock. it realy helps when useing them as pivite points, also it keeps you from getting a rock wedged between the 2 tubes.

this a good slider desgn 'cuase you cant get anything stuck between the tube

But this looks better

Wow, some very good points I hadn't thought of.

Do you really want to drag along, or pivot as you said sometimes? Sure is better than pivoting on the frame.

that would be extremely awesome if it was done right. i would love to do a project like that. and if you decide to do it youre going to have to keep in mind you'll need a place to mount mirrors if you dont put them on the tube doors.

i think once my truck gets a little more beat i might get some made.
