I dont know first gens that well but 14k for an 02 seems a little high as there are used 05 going for 18ish range and those are a much better truck as far as options and other features. do you have a link to an online add or is it a local sale type thing

Will do on the windows..Thanks

The company has online advertising but don't show the cars.....From searching the forum I am going to listen for frontend noise(endlinks, hub bearings) check window operation, listen and feel for vibs at cruising between 25,30 to 45 mph..and chk for the usual leaks and such.. I have a 98 Tacoma 2wd I-4 stdcab I will be trading, I would keep it but need 4wd and somewhere for the kid to sit(xtracad, crewcab) and the add wait of this for towing my motorcycles...

You know i cain't really think of anything in particular....

Is this the long bed or short bed? I'm to lazy to pull up the KBB on the 02 XE, but dispite what IronGrave said, its probably not that far off on price... The miles are a little on the high side, but not abnormally high... my 01 has 76K on it, and i think average for a 02 would be in the 65-70K range... so your probably ok...

Go through it good though... Look for any signs of oil leaks, check the tread on the tires to see how soon you will be purchasing tires... You can buy newer fronty's for not much more than that, but you have to consider the features of each... I loaded 02 can be worth the same as a basic 05...

You will have lots of fun with the truck though...

14k is way high if you ask me. 12k would be more like it. kbb it to make sure. as for problems your driving a nissan your not going to have any problems as long as the truck was well taken care off.

but like you said u were going to check out, the front end noise, nothig big but they should be fixed.

It is the short bed...The tires look almost brand new( but could be bad thing old tires could show really bad aligment or bad front end so replace tires so you don't know till they start wearing bad again)...It was in a different lot from the others for sale and was dirty..They said a sales manager was driving it the last couple days due to chances for snow and ice lately....

Well I KBB'd it for you...

You said short bed XE crew cab 4x4 right???

well first, the KBB suggested 67K, so its over by 13K from "average" which doesn't mean much of anything...

Assuming it has the following.... (what i picked as extra's)

Cruise
Tilt
Power Locks
Power Windows
Towing Package

It books (RETAIL) at 14,870... NADA is usually a good grand higher than that.... So as i figured, the price isn't out of line... Now i think you can get them to come down a solid $1000 atleast... so don't go in buying before trying to beat them up about the price...

I need to make sure of the xtras, It didn't have a drop hitch so no towing package, are the window switches on the door or center console(I think it had roll windows..I believe it is pretty plan jane...

yea, your good...

They are asking right at KBB high book... you should be able to work them for atleast $1000.00 off that... And if private party is 12K in excellent condition, then 12.5-13 i think isn't a horrible price for buying from a dealer...

Good luck with your dealings.... and always remember... get EVERYTHING that is promised (even things as small as tank of gas, or wash) in righting... Sales people are great to work with pre-sale... but the post-sale is a whole differant story....

Window switches on the door... if its no towing package, and crank windows... then I take back my comments about price... you need to work that down quite a bit... I've always made a point to buy EVERYTHING i buy fully loaded based on resale value.... a plain jane pickup truck with no towing package isn't gonna be a "easy" sale for them... Don't pay top money for less than top product...
