King Cab Question

I am currently shoppong for a '98 - '02 King Cab Frontier and was wondering how common is a King Cab with the bench seat? Everything I have seen has had buckets but from what I have read, the bench seat is standard...

Thanks,

Ron

The bench seat should be in the regular cab. The KC I had was a 95 and it had bucket seats. Mine was an XE.

I have 2 separate front seats but the drivers branches across the middle for a middle seat. It looks like a bench but there still separate.

I have never seen a KC with the bench seat up front. Were you talking front seats or rear seats?

Front seat. How difficult would it be to put a bench in place of the buckets? I would assume that all of the mounting points are already in the floor.

The searching I have done on the internet indicates that the bucket seats are part of the "popular pkg" or the "value truck pkg". Based on this I would assume that a bench is standard unless these options are present???

the only issues i can see are A: no center console/ cupholders... and B: no access to the extended cab. I'm not sure how the bench works but, i would assume it would be more difficult to access the rear of the cab

I was under the impression that you needed individual seats because the right seat sides forward so small people can sit in the two rear jumpseats. A bench seat would complicate ingress and egress for the rear seats.

I am pretty sure the bench seats are 60/40 split.

I doubt I will have have any passengers in the back. I would prefer the bench as it would be safer to stick my 5 yr old in the center rather than in the back.

dude, it would be WAY safer to just buy a Crew Cab. This is the reason I just sold my KC. depending on the options you can find one for around the same price. And when it really boils down to it. is your 5 year old's safety more important than spending another $1000?

This is simply a 4th vehicle for running to the recycle center, Home Depot, parking at the airport, etc. Very rarely will she even be in the truck, but for that ocassional trip I plan to put her in the front.

Cost is not the issue...I simply want a smaller truck. I had a Tacoma 4 door and didn't really like driving a 20' long truck.
