It doesn't take mine long at all to get cold. When I took my truck for the test drive I had the same problem and I told the dealer and they did something and he said a hose was loose. Check all your connections and go from there!

I would get it in to a shop and have them do a pressure test on it. Shouldnt be expensive and will save you in the long run. If he filled it before you bought it he may have either over filled it and blown a o ring(which is common and can be fixed cheap) or didnt use oil too(which needs to be replaced when you charge a system). Just hope that your compressor is not shot. On the up-side, If it is shot you could always just rip it out of your truck and gain Hp and MPG!! then you would have to roll with the windows down all the time though!
