well you should refer to the manual and see if you have the setting on cold.

also, make sure you have the air in recirc mode, the one where the button has the arrow making a u turn inside a silhouette of a vehicle. first gen a/c's, i believe gather hot outside air due to the intake vent placement so taht may be your problem..

it takes a while for my first gen's air to get cold. about 10 minutes of driving before it starts to cool down. freeway driving is required for it to get cold cold. sucks, but i don't even blow it that often.

I did some searches 2000 frontier air not working

A thermo control amplifier behind the glove box has fixed some rigs. The air was just serviced by the guy i bought it from at jiffy lube.

10 minutes to get cold? Whoa. Mine gets cold in literally 1-2 minutes. To the OP, if you have the knobs set correctly and it still does not blow cold you can either buy Freon gas at the auto store and try putting it in or take it in to get looked at because it might have a leak or one of the pumps/condensers might be broken.

Mine takes a few minutes to get cold too, with recirc deselected (fresh air). But it also may be because I live in hot *** Florida where the highs have been in the mid-90's, and the interior of a sealed truck rises to at least 120-130 degrees after a few hours on a sunny day.

I took the glove box out

I started to take screws from the big black box thingy not sure if its a blower motor? Where is the amplifier? Ive heard that just removing will allow the air to work. Thats one way i can discount that problem
