I can't exactly answer about the part number. I do have some used ones I picked up in the parts yard, as the break sometimes if you don't remove them in exactly the right way in pulling a door panel.
So call a dealer parts department, they should be more familiar with the "interesting" Nissan software, as the names are typically totally different for a part than you might expect. You mentioned gray, but these are also available in other colors (my two 1998s are gray, the 2004 has tan), so if you order at a dealer, be sure to specify color.
So if you can't get one, and no wrecking yards near you, PM me here, and suggest a price.
Cusser, thanks a lot for the link and the part offer. Sometimes I seem to have a hard time finding those parts diagrams for some reason. I'm not sure why they show the door handle trim for the '99 but not other years. I assume the 2000 is the same part though (28190). But part #'s are usually longer. How does that translate? Is the second part of the # after the dash depending on the color?
That diagram also shows the fastener I need, 80900A.
What is the cheapest place to order a few small parts online with shipping?
I've never ordered any parts for my Frontier online until this week, when I ordered an oil pump and a valve cover gasket, to try to fix some oil leaks (198K miles).
Yes, the Nissan parts names and electronic catalogs (like I linked above) are pretty confusing, and I "think" that if a part is available, it will be listed at the bottom of that page, and then if you click the code number then the entire part number will show up.
Like for 80900A, it shows 80999-D22U001 but that's quite a price for a door panel clip.
+1 for courtesy Nissan parts much cheaper. I ordered al intake and exhaust gaskets for the price of one exhaust gasket from my local dealer. I've orderd manual window handles from them as well. Best place to get replacement perts imo
Cusser your part numbers are a little off. 80900A is the "part code" The whole D22U001 is not part of a Nissan P/N. I think thats just something courtesy's website/inventory system uses.
Try NissanPartsZone.com out. If you put in your vin you'll get pretty accurate parts without having to weed through bs that doesn't apply to your truck.
Plastic trim around door handle, I looked up 01 but it should be the same throughout all years. Not sure why there are two different numbers for each color, and they have different prices as well.

they have two different colors, because there are two different colors. one is grey, one is charcoal grey. depends on the ending number of the vin, i figured that out when i replaced some of the plastics on my doors
Did you ever get your question answered? I work for the company that makes/made the door panels, not the escut for the inside handles, but the door panels for the frontiers. I have a 2000 Nissan D/Runner. I've taken these doors off a bunch of times and you have to be VERY careful removing the inside handle escut. Use a plastic finesse tool - do not use a screw driver as it will break it.
These are obviously designed for fast installation, rather than for removal.
If you have a removed one in front of you, you can figure out the best way to remove one to decrease chance of breaking. There's a reason that I've pulled spares from the parts yard.
I still need to get these parts. Never got back around to it because it was confusing to find the right part, and because they're such minor cosmetic pieces.
For the door handle bezel, someone mentioned above that there were 2 greys (not including charcoal), but courtesyparts.com only shows one. Anyone know why? How do I know if it's the correct grey.

I called Courtesy and he thinks 80682-3S500 seems to be the one I need, but wasn't positive.
FYI, it was $15 from him, yet only $5.50 (with an $8 list price) from courtesyparts.com. Talk about mark up.
For the triangular mirror cover retainer clip/pin, he couldn't find it.
I'm trying to figure out if this is it:
Shop the complete catalog of Genuine Nissan Parts, Accessories, Merchandise and NISMO performance parts online. Genuine Nissan parts from your local Nissan dealer. Available now. Home delivery available.
CourtesyParts.com is great, but their part diagrams are a bit lacking. If you go to NissanPartsDeal.com, you can search for your parts by VIN # to get the correct one. The clip you are looking for is part code "80900A" and is called a "clip-finisher." It can be found under "Body (side & rear>door trimming," or just use keyword search "door finisher."

Thanks a lot. That site does help - better diagrams, and especially after entering the VIN, as it obviously only shows the correct choices for mine.
80900A = 01553-03433, so the Courtesy guy's guess was right.
