I just installed the intake and went for a quick spin around the block....I like the sound it makes and it deffinatly has a little more sack, mostly up over 3500 rpms.
I feel the same way about the heat shield, it's not at all like the one in the picture that Hitman86 posted. I was laughing at the rubber gasket they give you to seal up to the hood when it's closed seeing there are open areas around the sides that measure 2-3 inches!!
One mistake I made was not putting on the filter when they said to in the instructions. I figured I would do that last seeing it's snowing like hell here. I did manage to get it on, but I thought I was going to have to take it all back apart just to get it into position.
The thing i can't figure out is....they give you a vacuum hose and tell you to run it from the connector on the intake pipe to the vacuum solenoid. But i didn't disconnect any vacuum hoses taking out the stock intake so therefor there are no open vacuum ports to connect to.
After looking over the stock intake again I found a vacuum port that had a stock rubber stopper on it so I used that to plug the vacuum hose on the new intake.
Any info on this? It seems to run fine.

if you want a noticable hp increase do the intake with an exhaust and get your computer remaped. I prefer JET performance. you should pick up about 18hp with that combo!

I did the Gibson cat back about two months ago. It felt more responsive and the sound was better as well. This week I added the AEM with dry filter. To me it seems smowehat more responsive and the sound quality also improved. What the real gains are I don't know for sure...But my perception is it seems much better and for me that counts for a lot since it makes driving more fun.
