i got a chipmunk caught in my engine!!

sounds like a chipmunk is under my hood when I turn the ac on....ill probably need to retighten my belt.

tighten the belt. if it dosent help look at the tensioner. its probaly about to let loose. bad bearing???

soulds like a squeal as soon as a kick my a/c on i can tell its comin from the belt system. ok it doesnt sound like a chipmunk. sounds more like a high pitch turkey.

when i turn on the A/C i hear like a PPPPPPPPPPPPSSSSSSSTTT sound....

but... no escape, i assume its normal because in my brother's frontier its the same thing

could be loose, or it could just be worn out, how many miles on your truck? know when the last time the main belt was replaced? and yeah i was really hoping to see some carnage on this one!!!

sorry to disappoint. i might be able to stuff the girlfriend's cat under there and hopefully see a lil blood. but anyway. just broke one hundred thousand and i bought it second hand so i dont know when the belt was replaced last.

right, well usually the "rule of thumb" is if it has several major cracks in it per inch, it's time to replace or if you see any spots that are worn flat (which may be your case since it's been squeeking). but it sounds like it's just a little loose, might need a new tensioner. if it was the belt i'd do it other times other than just when the a/c is turned on
