How to clean egr valve?

I got a service engine soon light for EGR valve malfunction excessive flow. Is there a write up on how to clean it? I read there is a nissan bulletin, but I can't seem to find it.

A shop cleaned the one on my Blazer before I sold it by soaking it in a gal. of parts cleaner overnight. I an hooked on this stuff. Does a nice job on all parts including small engine carbs.

i don't know to much on the petrol motors but one thing to check would be exhaust. check for dents in pipes, clogged mufflers or a clogged cat. either one will cause high back pressure and excessive EGR flow.

theres probably carbon build up in the port. possibly parts cleaner or solvent may work. also depending if its a negative pulse or a positive pulse egr valve. the valve itself may be faulty and not operating as designed. but mostly its carbon holding the valve open
