I would have bought those SLR ones already but have seen too many red flags to chance that. Not to mention I've heard good and not so good things if the sh!t were to hit the fan regarding SLR and quite frankly my phone conversations with Spencer has left little to be desired, but hey to each there own.

At least with the 4x4parts ones, they claim they sell a sensor add on should the CEL go off which is supposed to fool the sensor and correct the CEL. Now i just have to figure away around emissions, or put back on the OEM manifolds every two years when i go in to get smogged...

I just want these headers to come out already. I have been wanting headers for this truck since I got it. I came so very close to buying the SLR headers at one time, but then I saw the post on the install and I backed off on them. Also, I am up for a group buy if I dont buy them once they come out.

Well I know you've been waiting a long time Steve, if we can save a few pennies by a few of us going in, lets try that. Believe me, I know your hunger for these

I'm kind of thinking the install would be very similar to the SLR ones, but pretty sure we won't have to re-route any of the sensors and worst case scenario will have to add on the sensor add ons

My main problem with the install was if I was going to all the trouble and then having a CEL and possible not passing emissions. It just does not seem worth it.

I have that same fear / problem. However (and I still need to look into this more), the fact that the off-road headers remove the two pre-cats, is making me wonder if i'll simply fail emissions on the spot or if they do a visual inspection in which i might fail on the spot for simply not having the precats. I'd really hate to have to undo / redo the mod every two years when emissions come up and would rather pay someone $100 for him to just pass me Just need to find that guy In any case i'd much rather have the off-roading ones as they'll be better power wise

But yeah the CEL is my biggest fear as well, but supposedly Mike says they'll have some sensor add ons to suppress that. Let's hope that add on isn't just a simple snip snip

Personally I would rather have the street legal once so I know I will pass emissions every year.

You might be waiting a bit longer then... When i chatted with Mike about them he said the Off-roading ones would be released first, then the Street legal (except for CA) would be released sometime in the summer

Yeah, I remember you saying that at one point. I guess then I will have to wait a bit longer.

I really need to look into WA emissions and really find out what all they check for, maybe stop into one and find out if "tipping" will solve the problem. So far I've not had to get the smog check on mine yet though, so we'll see. I'd much rather have the off-roading ones, but in the end if it's too much of a PITA, then I might veer towards the street legal ones.
