Well, I'll be the wet blanket here and remind those that want to exceed 100+ in a pickup that we kill about 120 people a day on U.S. roads and not one person who lost their life today realized that it would be their last day on this earth. Tomorrow it will be the end of about 120 more people and 120 more the day after. On it goes. Kinda puts Iraq war fatalities in perspective and both are saddening.

Anyway, slow down and save a life. I'm someone's son, father and husband and I'd like to make it home. I suspect you'd like to survive as well. Thanks.

I'll agree with you that it is sad but not all motor vehicle deaths are related to going 100+ miles an hour

... wouldn't that be "the Governator" anyway... haha.. sorry... easy cheap shot... had to...

.. and I'll agree that slowing down would probably be a good idea... speeding is one thing... racing and going 100 is just dangerous... go to the track and get your fix there....

... that said.. I rented a UHaul one time and the govenor was set at 55... about 15 miles into the trip I hit a rest area and disconnected the wheelspeed sensor... no more govenor.... but I never knew how fast I was going, but then again it was a UHaul... and the guy did kinda look at me funny when I turned a truck I had rented in Vegas and was turning in in TX that only had 16.4 miles on it since I rented it. Ha. I just played dumb and told him it stopped working. Not sure if that trick would be a temp fix on a Frontier or not.

you disable it by crashing your truck into something at 95 mph while racing. idiot.

back in the day when i was a stupid driver i hit about 98 99 in my truck and nothing happened just didn't want to go any faster.

but please please do drive saftley, wanna go fast get a 350z and take it to a track or want a truck get a lightning or srt10, there has to be a reason nissan set these trucks at 95 mph limit, don't risk it and crash and kill yourself or someone else on the highway.

You'll regret it when you end up killing someone. IT'S A TRUCK NOT A SPORTS CAR! AND EVEN IF IT WERE A SPORTS CAR ITS STILL STUPID.

To be honest, your truck is probably about as stable at 55mph as these guys are at 95 because of the SAS. Due to the heavier tires/axles etc etc, your braking distance is probably about the same too. and if you do 55 here on a AZ freeway, you are far more of a hazard then me doing 80.

the speed limit here is 75.
When I'm doing 95 in the vette on a wide open highway.....thats not even a stretch for that vehicle(it can do 170), and I can STILL outstop/handle/accelerate pretty much anything driving on the road. At 95. So that vehicle at 95 is probably safer then alot of the rattletraps people drive at 70.

I do 85 in the truck. Its comfortable. Its not a problem. its only 10 over. Highway Patrol (DPS) starts pulling people over at 11mph over. I get passed by mini vans all the time. With kids. in Car seats. All the time.

For Christ sake, 95 is only 20 over. (here anyway)

So its all perspective. Lets not get into a flame war over it. If there's no one around, and loads of open space....who cares how fast you go. Worst that will happen is a single vehicle accident, and then whoops, that sucks, your fault.

Your right, you did, and its unfortunate. I don't know why people feel the need to tell people what to do on this forum, but they always seem to. And this thread will go down hill, feathers will get ruffled, it will get locked, and its all a shame.

if you had searched you would have found the answer to the governor question(its been discussed before) But I'll let you off this time
