Gibson install question
Recieved my Gibson cat back system last week and I am going to install this weekend. In reading the instructions it said to seal the existing gasket where the new system starts to bolt up to the exsisting system. I found some Permatec ultra black hi temp silicone gasket maker at the auto parts store where the exhaust systems are. Will this work or can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks, Bruce.

I used to use only Black Marine Silastic for header gaskets on my drag car. Any of the silicon family will work as long as it has a High Temp Rating.

Sounds like the ticket to me!!!! You shouldn't have any problems. I grabbed just some cheap wal-mart red high temp stuff and it worked great.
What's up in big ROME GA???? Hope we get some rain soon. Last edited by UGA Frontier : 05-04-2007 at 09:14 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

We need the rain bad. We got just enough yesterday to mess up the truck that I just washed the day before. My yard is turning brown. Looks promising this weekend. Bruce.
