Front Hub Part

I have no idea how this part got screwed up as badly as it did but I was doing some pretty routine brake work last weekend and noticed my rotors were in terrible shape. Long story short I had to buy new rotors and pads, but taking the rotors off required basically taking the whole hub assembly off. When I took the passenger side hub off I noticed that the inside was all mangled. Only thing is, it was only the white piece and spring in the pictures below. Does anyone know where I can find this part and how much it will cost? It's the outermost piece of the hub assembly before the black cap slides on. It's also supposed to have a spring with it, which kind of reminds me of a clutch. Any help or insight would be appreciated. I want to go to the beach but have no 4WD right now, I'm assuming. I haven't tried locking it in for fear of further damage.

Thanks in advance.

Bah. I figured. If that's the case I'll just have to buy the Warn hubs. I've heard they're better anyway.

Anyone else?

get the manual locking hubs

you have to get out when ever you want to lock in but who cares, you'll save some gas too

also the picture you're showing is of a good one right, because that white piece is still in good shape, getting the spring back around that and back where it goes is kinda tricky though

No that white piece is not a good one. We weren't able to get the spring back around it. Does it appear to be in good shape? The part that looks mangled is circled in yellow:

oooo ok, well if you can't fit the spring back around it properly go for the warn hubs or some junk yard hubs

I didn't notice how bad that corner was at first glance

the little plastic flange there isn't very solid is it? It looks like it is hanging off a bit, like it was cut.

if that's the case then you should go for the new hubs because I don't know of any place that would sell just that piece

Went ahead and bought Mile Marker manual locking hubs.

Did some research and apparently the only primary difference besides the MM's being iron was that they're a little harder to lock in and out, but not 50 dollars harder..haha.

Thanks for the help.

Manual hubs worked great. Truck actually feels like it has stronger pull in the front end now.

I have two of those!! lol they are suposed to have a spring around them..lol If im not mistaken! I have the part # too! # 40262 from a D22U front hub... I guess mine are broken in two pieces! on both sides! Not a clue how they got broken either.. ut the spring is holding mine together.. and they still work lol

Ah oh well. I plan to keep this truck around for awhile so I figure the manual hubs are my best bet. They've worked like a charm so far.
