You could probably get away with just modding your air box and using a K&N drop in instead of spending the cash for the FIPK. Spend the $ on something more usefull like changing all of your fluids over to synthetic.. That can help some with MPG. and depending on how many miles on your sc you could go for some iridium plugs??

theres a little over 70k on the truck so i was looking into new iridium plugs, has anyone seen noteworthy gains from them? and any thoughts on ignition upgrades? thanks for your post

You will probably not see gains from the plugs..Lucky for you your plugs are probably still good for at least 20K.. The iridium plugs have a much longer life expectancy so you have to change them less. BTW your plugs are a BIG pain in the a$$!!!! You will need to do the timing belt around the same time as the plugs.

There is a BAD lift kit on craigslist Portland OR its a customized 5" made into a 6" lift.. Also there is a front end steering package on there that all fit in your $1000 range.. Great deals to boot!
