Drivetrain vibration

Has anyone experienced drivetrain vibration on these trucks?

Let me explain.

My 04 gets this real good shimmy in the back end of the truck. It's not consistant. Sometimes you'll feel it at 50 and sometimes 60+. Like I can drive the same road to work 5 times and won't feel it every time. It gets very bad when pulling a trailer.
Very strange.

It's a crew long bed 4x4. It's been doing this since about 40k. But seems to be getting worse.

I put new tires on it last March and thought I had a bad tire. but the tires are wearing evenly and my experiences, tires are either bad or good. It wouldn't come and go like this.

I also put brakes on all around and turned the drums and rotors.

I don't want to whine but I'm getting a little frustrated with this truck. It goes to the sqealer Friday for the valves, again. I suppose I will ask them about this issue too.

Sounds like the carrier bearing. Mine has done it since I've had it.

The bearings go out commonly and create a vibration around 45-50. Mine seems to do it when it's shifting up from 4th to 3rd gear.

God I hope not since it only has 60k on the clock! Nissan would be ashamed.

Hey Durell,

Can the carrier bearing be changed with backyard mechanics or does it need a special Nissan dealer only tool?

Wow! Do you off-road alot? The most dirt my truck has ever seen is a service road to the cabin to get firewood. My truck is mostly a highway vehicle.

What did they "ballance" in the driveline?
