Cudos to Tire Rack

Went to my tire guy for tires on Friday. These are the 265/55-17 Firehawks the came on the '01 sc, so I took a wheelbarrow full of money. Bought them there the 1st time around so I didn't expect any problems. Guess again. "Can't get them and 10 -20 days if ever" is what I heard. Jeez.
Took my wheelbarrow home and got online w/tirerack.com. Not only were they $20/tire less than three years ago I can get them mt./balanced locally for another $20/tire less. W/5 tires that's $200 saved. Placed my order and Fed. X showed up today w/5 new Firehawks. $50 shipping so I'm $150 to the good.
Now if I can get Merchants to mount them this afternoon I can get a fresh inspection sticker (ran out at midnight).
So, cudos to tire rack. Seems like online is the only way to go these days. Amsoil, radiatorbarn, and now tire rack. Hard to beat.

Based on what I paid 3 years ago, $90 in my pocket, after a $20 tip to the worker. Tire Rack seems to be the way to go. Ordered them Fri. afternoon, on my door step Tue. morning. Smooth as silk across the board. No state tax, no disposal fees. $12 ea. mt./bal.
Got my leaky manifold thru state inspection, too. It's been a good day.

They don't handle the Firehawks, but I saved that link. My wife's Montero is gonna need new rubber soon.
Those Firehawks that came on the '01 sc are buggers to find. From what I've read, etc. They are made by only 1 manufacturer (Firestone) and they only came on the '01 sc. Thus the wheelbarrow.
Caught another thread that said Wal-mart mts./bals. for $6 per. Anybodys tires.
