catalytic converter heat sheilds removeal
Anyone have any problems after taking off their shields?
Just recently I was getting a terrible rattling sound from the exhaust I checked under it today and found the catalytic converter heat shield so loose that half of it had rust through and you could move it back and forth. I removed both pieces. I see the riders side does not look any better and probably will have to remove that one as well sometime soon. |

You might want to reconsider removing the shields. The heat could pose problems for the floorboard and the carpet above the cats.

Ok looks like I can buy a set for the truck.
There is a set of shields that are around the converter and then there is another heat sheild on the underside of the body too. So hopefully it will not burn through before I get new sheilds. http://www.courtesyparts.com/betasit...2154_2156.html They are cheap so I will just a set. |

Yeh, I was talking about the heat shield around the cat... Sorry for the confusion. I usually don't park in the grass but I will change get it updated so just in case. I was surprised those things are a good 10 lbs.
