Canopy for a 00 Regular Cab

I'm having trouble finding a used canopy that would fit the 00 regular cab Frontier. Most canopies are 75" long, but I measured the bed length to 79". What's up with that? Does the Frontier have a 4" longer bed then the usual compact Toyota, Ford and what not truck?

Does any of you know which other canopies fit this truck? I really don't want to spend the 1+ grand on a new one. Do the regular cab and extra cab have the same canopy size? There is one 150 miles away (Nissan Frontier Short Canopy) which I'd go get if I knew it fits.

Thanks guys!

Holger

Seriously? I bought it as 2000 regular cab. Never seen the title, because the seller had lost it. Getting a replacement title from the DMV, and they didn't object to the year, but that means nothing I guess. Damn. Well, at least I didn't pay much.

Looking at wikipedia: Nissan Frontier - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia they say indicate the regular cab was built until 2000. At least that's how I read it. That white regular, that's how mine looks like exactly, including the color. Just a little more bruised. No mentioning whether that thing was actually exported into the US, but mine has the wheel on the left.

Hey, wikipedia says the Frontier is also sold under the name "Dongfeng". LOL, that's what I'm gonna call it from now!

Regular Cab this is a hardbody (or just Nissan pickup). last year for the HB was 98

King Cab My 2001, other makers usually call this "extended cab."

and Crew Cab 4 door, not started until 2000

Remember, Wikipedia is NOT always right!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, wikipedia isn't always right, but my truck looks exactly like that white one on the wikipedia page:

... and that one doesn't look like a hardbody I don't think. It also says "Frontier" on my car. The plot thickens...

The picture of the hardbody was just to show a std cab.

If i were you I'd run a carfax on the VIN to find out the year for sure.

As far as your canopy questions, measure the inside of the bed.

yeah man, id run a carfax to see what the real year was... i will guarantee its a 98'... i hate carfax tho, all these commercials on TV for it yet there's so many ways to get around having things put on the vehicles record... def not a way to judge a used vehicle... just another way to scam dealers out of money because more idiots will now ask to "show me the carfax" -- end rant

btw, hertz, the HB pickups stopped being produced in 97' the frontier replaced them

Imagine that: even Carfax got it wrong and report it as a 2000 Frontier. Well, at least the free ones online that only give you year, model and want to to pay for more. Don't want to plunk down the $$ for Carfax. I'm stuck with that car now anyway.

Yeah my bad, Hardbodys were ended in 97, idk why i put 98, wasn't thinking.

I did a look on cardomain and there are some 2000 regular cabs on there...... so maybe it is, especially if carfax says so. Definitely not common. I just can't find any solid info.
