Camshafts

I'm looking at possibly two different camshafts for a future mod (when I get the money).

1. http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/...51736f759c5d6a

2. http://www.spencerlowracing.com/products/ edit: scroll down to motor products and then camshafts

Can I really get a 15% increase in power as the 1st one claims? And is there a big difference between the two, the 2nd one is almost 100 bucks cheaper.

I know the 1st one is a bit bigger, but it claims to be better than the other slightly smaller cam on 4x4parts.

remember to upgrade your rockers at the same time.

hey, since the 4.0 is a bored and stroked version of the VG, why not try and make it a VQ40?

I have a truck. It gets me from A to B. Why I spend so much money changing it, I will never know. Is there a cure for this disease? I have no idea what I would be using all my money for if there was a cure.

Not really. The VQ is a completely different engine from the VG. the VQ40 is a stroked version of the VQ35...which is a stroked/bored version of the VG30.

Definately nothing to do with the VG series.

Well, the one from 4x4parts claims a 15% increase, and thats a little more that a "lil HP". It's a good deal of money but not outrageous for the gains, I was also thinking about that Large bore throttle plate from SLR. In another thread someone was saying the SLR had some sort of racing team, and I'm starting to wonder if maybe their cams are just as good as the ones on 4x4parts.
