A/C Problems...

Ok, does anyone here know anything about A/C? It's not working in my 2001 Nissan Frontier King Cab. I tried charging the coolant, but it did not fix it. I put in coolant until my gauge read almost 45psi. The air is now only 70 degrees instead of 80, but still not fixed. Any suggetions? and yes, the compressor is starting.

I have never been a fan of "do it yourself kit".

How do you know how much is in there?
How much did you put in?

I bought a kit that had a gauge in it. When I first checked it, it had just under 25psi in it which is at the bottom of the filled section. So I filled it up to almost 45psi which is at the high end of the filled section. It didn't take a lot to get there either. I drove around after filling it up and it wasn't working so I posted on here, but I drove again a few minutes ago and it seemed to be working okay. It's still not working as good as it used to, but it is better, not sure why it took so long to start working after I charged it though.

you know that you should be running the truck with ac on while filling right? charge it until it gets cold then stop.. those DIY AC kits suck balls.. Go to a shop and have them do it for $50-75 they use a vacume and install new oil..
