A/C advice?

I had a leak in my high pressure line and lost virtually all pressure in my system. When the A/C was switched on, there was a switch cycling noise (like a valve opening and closing) and hissing noise coming from behind the center of the dash.

I replaced the high pressure line last week and had a shop pull a vacuum and recharge the system. The system blew mediocre cold air, more cool than cold, but was better than nothing and I hoped it would get better after working for awhile...

So a few days ago the cycling and hissing noise starts back up behind the dash. I took a pressure reading on the system thinking I had another leak but the pressure is high (~150 psi @ 100 degrees outside temp).

The only thing I can guess at from reading is a bad thermal expansion valve? Anyone else have a similar problem and have luck fixing it?

what are your low side pressures? is there ice forming anywhere on the lines or anything else that you can see possible indicating a restriction? you may also have a loose vacuum line or something behind the control switch. could be a whole bunch of things...

Thanks for the input. I took it in to the guys who vac'ed and recharged it for me for a second look. They hooked it up to gauges, bled some off the high side, added to the low side and it's working much better now.

They did say that my bumper (not in my profile pic) may be excessively blocking airflow, it's a winch mount that's pretty boxed in right in front. Makes sense as the A/C works much better at speed, but it's always been that way honestly. I may do a double electric fan set up at some point to help with this.
