Buying new frontier

So I crashed my 01 Frontier in January and I miss it very much. I'm in the process of searching for a new one and there's one for a pretty good price. Only problem is only the #3 & #4 ac vents work..

Do you know about how much this will cost me to fix? I need to know how much to expect.

I will need more information on the year. I am not sure exactly what you mean by the AC vents not working. Are the plastic directional vents broke or does it not blow air out of it. If it's not blowing air out of one but the rest work I would say that one is plugged or not hooked up. If one is not hooked up it would be very odd and it might be that someone has played with it at one time or another.

Also sometimes the vents can get plugged with insulation due to critters. From what you say in the thread it doesn't sound like it would be a huge $ amount to fix. The frontier has a blower under the dash of the drivers feet that is used to blow the air out all the vents. If that is spinning then I think the fix should be simple.

yea pretty much the far left and middle left vents don't blow air at all. The vents are fine they just don't blow out.

I think the first thing you should do is before you buy it is to pull the glovebox out. Then behind the glove box you can find a large square black plastic box. This box contains the in cabin air filters. I'd pull them out and see if it they have ever been clean. There may be insulation up against them.

Next without tearing the dash down I would shine a flash light in each vent to see if you could see they are plugged.

The blower fan is under the riders feet and feeds the vents from right to left.

Like I said before unless some one messed with or removed the duct it would have to be plugged somewhere in the line.

Mice have been known to get into vehicle air ducts time and again.
