Anyone know what this is for?

Why would you need one of these?

On a related note, where is the best deal on a tow hitch with receiver and ball? Courtesy's price isn't too bad right now but the shipping is like $50 and I think that is crazy.

That is way overpriced... The deal one costs like $70 i think. Plus I thought it was somewhat pre-wired for that. Maybe I'm on drugs but get others opinions before you buy that. I'm skeptical.

As for the hitch, do some searching, there were other posts not to long ago on hitches, one which i posted a link in near the end to an even earlier post where the OP did quite a bit of homework and pricing, might help

My truck already has a ball in the bumper and it's already got the 4 plug hookup coming out the back. I guess I need to grab a meter and make sure it's getting juice.

I don't really trust the bumper so I'm just going to buy a hitch. I think I can get out for less than $200 either way.

That's what i thought, If you never had a hitch or towing package then you'd need a little wire harness, but i didn't think it needed to go all the way to the batt, etc... That one you found online is not what you want though, purdy damn sure...
