90k mile maintenance/service

Hi, Newbie here..but old truck..

It's actually my dad's truck, 98' kingcab xe auto with 80k miles on it.
I am looking to do a major service to bring it back to a "better" condition since my dad only had the oil changes done on the car for past couple years and he only drives couple thousands miles a year

I have couple questions..
1. The service manual..I found out that there are some CDs available from Ebay at good price, however, not sure about the "quality". Does anyone have it? if so, how does it work out?
2. For a 10-year-old car, I'd think to do the followings:

1. oil change, oil filter change
2. auto transmission drain and refill - do i need a flush? any specified/recommend products?
3. coolant flush
4. brake fluid flush
5. rear differential fluid drain and refill
6. inspect brakes(both front discs and rear drum)
7. fuel filter replacement
8. (new engine air filter/cabin ac filter have been put in couple months ago)
9. new plugs?

3. what's the best on-line resource for nissan parts?
4. do i need to have the timing belt done?

Thanks a bunch

Jason

Welcome!

i got a factory service manual on disk through ebay. works well. easy to follow.

2. - Yes, a flush is advised for a auto tranny.
9. - yep...its about that time. 90-100k i think is the recommendation.

3. - i like the following 2
Courtesyparts.com - Genuine Nissan Parts, Accessories, NISMO and Nissan Motorsports
NissanParts.cc - Your #1 Source for OEM Parts and Accessories
4. - Yes.

I changed my timing belt at 106K on my 04 VG33.

Went ahead and put in a new thermostat at the same time I replaced timing belt b/c it turns two jobs into one job.

New transmission filter. Most stores sell a filter/gasket kit for the tranny. I recommend rubber gaskets as compared to cork.

Check your hoses.

I've never used the CD's, I use Haynes Manual's. That way the info is right there and it's good info for the most part.

I buy parts in town.

i just sunk about 1300 into my 91000 mile truck between parts and labor. now granted i could have saved about 800 bucks worth of labor if i would have done it all myself but i chose to be lazy (and foolish). spark plugs, timing belt, tranny fluid, tons of replacement bushings in the front suspension/steering, and a new centerlink. i still want to do the rear diff, plug wires, and at the moment i need an oil change.

edit: scratch that oil change thing. just did it
