2000 CC RWD
work truck. no offroading. would like to lower a bit. about 2". front is easy enough, crank the torsion bars. what about the back. nobody seems to sell anything for a 2000 Crew Cab. I understand I effectively have a 'deser runner' susp./chassis. can I just order something that's specd. for 01-04 desert runners. will it be ok.

also, payload capac. is important to me. do lowering blocks affect payload?

thanks.

are you 2wd or 4? if your 2 yo should have your leaves under the axle not over, just put a couple blocks under there and call it good. if your 4 and over the axle. then you can always think about a flip.

Not sure on over/under. It's a 2000 crew cab rear wheel drive.

do these 'lowering blocks' affect payload capacity?

thanks

Not to sound like a smart*** but look under your truck and if the springs are under the axle, it is spring-under. If they are over the axle, it is spring over. You can only drop a spring-under setup with blocks. They shouldnt effect your payload, except for the truck being lower to the ground. Just get a good quality block.

you don't sound like a smartass and I appreciate the response. I didn't know it was that easy to tell, I'll take a look at the truck and see.

glad to hear that lowering blocks don't affect payload capacity.

thanks.

and ALL frontiers are rwd. that doesnt tell us if its 4 or 2 wheel drive.

if your 2 tho yes you should be under, and blocks will work fine. if your 4, you can just do a flip (basically just set it up like a 2wd) and you got your drop. your payload should be the same yes, only problem is since your bead is closer to your tires under heavy loads when it droops its going to hit your tires faster than if it was lifted.

ok. I'm new to this 4WD stuff so take it easy on me.
the truck is 2WD.
the leaf springs are mounted under the rear axle.

that answers that. thanks.

next question, SRS light functions normally, cruise master switch at dash turns on, horn and steering wheel cruise switches don't work.
if the clockspring is kaput, wouldn't I have a flashing SRS light too?

thanks

as for your steering wheel cruise its kinda tricky, you ahve to turn it on first, and the turn on button isnt on your wheel.

look on yoru dash to the left of the wheel. there should be a black rocker switch. when you turn it on the square on it should glow green. that turns your cruise on, then you go to the steering wheel, and you can use your cruise control. when i first got this truck took me for ever to figure that out lmao.

as for your horn not working could be lots of reasons. blown fuse, bad horn, broken wire. ive never had to deal with a horn, so im not much help there. but i would start by checking the fuses for your horn that are under your dash and under the hood.

cruise master switch on dash turns on fine. steering wheel controls don't work and no horn.
srs light indicates no problems with airbag.

okay then you deff have a problem, the horn has nothing to do with the air bag. have you checked your fuses? thats normally about the best place to start. you have one set on the left hand side on the dash, and then another set under the hood on the right. check those first.
