2000 3.3 V6 Timing belt replacement cost

Hello all, I just got my frontier with the 3.3V6 4x4 and I'm not sure if the timing belt has been changed, it has 90,000 miles, and all service records but no record of any timing belt change.....anyone know the cost of a timing belt replacement?------Thanks

Nissan dealer quoted $800, that changing all belts, timing chain, water pump, etc. I had a local mechanic do it for $400.

Thanks for the info, yea, dealers always charge an arm and a leg, I was figuring around $500, I'll take $400 over $800 any day, thanks again

im not looking forward to paying the cost to get mine done (if i still have my truck), 800 dollars for the dealer to do it, im not so sure how much my dealer charges but that seems an awful lot.

When the time comes I'm going to try doing it myself. You can get a timing belt kit from Courtesy Nissan for around $275.

It would be a good time to change spark plugs also since I think you have to remove them to do the job properly.

yeah we have to anyway due to the plugs we have are 100k miles plugs, i would do everything, timing belt, water pump, drive belts, coolant change,plugs/wires, new distributor cap, and an oil change.

Mine is getting there. I have 98k. I'll definitely pay the extra 125 to have it done rather than pay 275 and deal with it myself.
