1st gen trim removal

I'm wanting to know how do I get the trim off around the radio so I can remove the radio and add something I bought for my Sirius. I did a search and only found info on the 2nd gen, it sounds like I could do the same tricks but I was wondering if we have any better ways than puddy sticks.

Pull the shifter trim (pull hard, that's what I did) and then you have access to the 4 screws in that area. There are also two more screws under the climate controls (top of the radio). Should be 6 screws in total, and you should be able to pull the trim off and have full access. You'll have to unplug the airbag light, switch, and 12V accessory. Whatever you do don't turn the truck on with them removed.

EDIT:

I'm pretty sure the center dash surround is held in by 4 screws total. Two at the top of the radio (hidden), and two more at the bottom of the surround panel that become visible when the shifter surround is removed. Then pull hard but carefully, and the trim panel will come loose. My truck doesn't have the airbag on/off switch so I turned my truck on and off no problem.

Btw, crutchfield is using some kind of prybar which will **** up your trim. Just grab with your fingers on the sides of the shifter surround and the dash surround panel and they will both come loose.

They're both double-din. As long as the harness is the same which it should be unless Nissan changed it recently.
