The only time i ever had an issue with this was when i had some boards or something tied on top such that it was resting on the top of the visor, pushing it up a little in the front and created a small wind tunnel, and man did it thump around like you were saying. Normally i never have a problem with it. It may just need to be adjusted a little.

Also, my sunroof whistles a little, If I push up on the handle hard, it goes away. Anyone replaces sunroof moldings to fix thiers?
GC
Maybe its a Georgia thing, Greg, because my wind deflector rattles whenever I hit a crosswind. That is the main reason I'll be taking mine off, any mileage improvement will be a bonus.

Yeah had two tanks of gas since then that was back up around my original when i had the visor on. So overall it didn't seem to affect my mileage that much, but admittedly my driving is 50 / 50 as far as freeway / city and up here in the slowwest, people don't drive that fast on the freeway where it would really matter.

If / when i do take a trip back down to bend or SolCal again i will test this theory again under 100% freeway conditions cause i do think there's some truth to your claim, and now that i have the Scangauge it might be easier to test. I just think for my normal driving it may affect things so slightly that i can't measure it.

Still have the visor off though as you can tell by my recent avatar pic

My 01 used to do the same thing. I tightened the screws that hold the handle on and that fixed it. I also put lock tight on them so they wouldn’t come loose again.

I didn't even pay attention to the new avitar... I've kinda always like the look of them off... Thanks for humoring it though... I actually have a meeting in Syracuse on the 5th... I'm thinking that I may through the roof visor back on, fill up with gas right where i get on the 90 and drive there with it on... then fill up before getting back on the 90 again for the return trip, and taking it back off... Its probably 120 miles from my exit to where i'm going... so its a solid 1/2 tank of measuring... then i'll just fill up again when i get back... that will give me a good idea of how much gas i burned on the drive... and it will be 100% cruise control, so as close as i can get accurate...

I'll let you know if i do this... because i agree that the faster driving speeds would be when the larger effect would be seen if at all...

Yeah just got comfortable with it off and the look kind of grew on me. I debated just the other day about putting it back on and didn't. I may just leave it off for good. Considering it probably weights about 5 pounds leaving it off should increase my 1/4 mile race times by .00328 seconds!!!

I put mine back on once recently... but then took it back off a few days later.... Having the sunroof makes it nicer off... but yes, i've gotten used to seeing it off now
