lol, believe it or not the truck is around 210 miles and i have less than 1/4 tank. Took a road trip recently and the wife insisted on using her jeep.

Longest tank of gas i think I've ever had, heh...

Finally, the results are in. However they're actually worse. Over the Christmas period I did a lot more city driving and not nearly as much hwy driving, so I kind of expected these results. I'll continue running without the visor and report the next set of results as I'll be back to "normal" driving. You got me thinking though about the drag factor and i wonder how much more difference it would make if i took off the two perpendicular bars on the rack as well (assuming they can come off).

246.8 miles recorded on OD
263.5 actual miles driven
17.143 gallons put in

~15.4 mpg

yea that was a long tank of gas huh... I had my visor back on, but finally took it off again this weekend (hadn't driven the truck in a week or so)... And after 1/2 tank or so, its looking like i'm doing better again... i dunno... I should right the "myth busters" and have them test it for us...

You will have to cover the holes in the roof the roof rack leaves. I started taking them off once and then I noticed it was going to leave holes in the roof so instead of finding some thing to plug them with I just reattached the bars.

he's talking about the ones that go across from side to side.... not front to back.. ( i think...)

which i wouldn't see mattering as much as the visor, just becuase they give the air on option to go over or under, so it can split the differance... instead of forcing air over the entire thing.... i don't know though...

The perpindicular bars do come off. Has anyone noticed the wind deflector ("plastic thing") Vibrating and rattling on the roof like agiant woodpecker?! Drives me crazy.
Also, my sunroof whistles a little, If I push up on the handle hard, it goes away. Anyone replaces sunroof moldings to fix thiers?

Stop into a place that does aftermarket sunroofs, and i'm sure they can replace, or sell you the stuff to replace the weather stripping around your sunroof. I don't really notice any noise from mine though... My visor thingy (new technical name for it... LOL) would vibrate in higher winds though...
