Deaver Pack

Any one can chime in on this but I just wanted to get it in the right place for Greg to definately see it. I wanted to know if the deaver pack will basically serve as a helper spring or if it is basically just a lift. I want the back end of my truck to be a little stiffer and be able to support a little more weight in the bed. The way I put my quad in my truck makes the back end sag a bit because I have a custom built box in the bed so it pushes my quad about 12-15" back so theres a little more weight to support. Just wanted to see if the deavers would fix it or if I should look for a helper spring somewhere. Any and all input is accepted and appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like nobody has helped you out w/ this; Im not an expert but I can tell you what I have heard about the Deavers. When you install the deavers you normally remove the overload spring. This gives it a softer ride, but reduces the trucks ability to tow/haul heavy loads. If you want stiffer leaf springs I would look into Alcan, as they can custom build springs to match the amount of lift or load you want to carry. I think Greg carries full replacement leaf packs too that might work out for you.

I think Greg recommends removing the overload when installing the deavers for sake of ride quality and flex, but if load capacity is your main concern, and not flex, you can keep the overload with the deavers. The deavers should increase your carrying capacity a bit, but not a whole lot. However, they are the only lift option that will increase it at all. Blocks wont and shackles wont, so they are your best option unless you wanted to go with an air-bag type load support like this:

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'm going to order a set of helper springs though.
