Stealing Holdens

I see that next year the latest Holden will become the newest Pontiac in the USA - they're finally beginning to see the light

Well they've already taken the Holden Monaro as the Pontiac GTO, so it's not THAT new. The "new" GTO came out in 2004. This new Commodore looks good. I'm not a big fan of the name, though. It reminds me of the old Commodore 64. Old technology shouldn't be linked to new vehicles.

As far as "beginning to see the light", I would like Nissan to see the light when it comes to our Frontiers and make a Diesel available or at least some of those cool parts from the Navaras.

So this will be Pontiac's version of the Chevy Cobalt?? It looks to be the same size. I wonder if they will call it a Sunfire again??

They'll probably commit some atrocity by calling it the new Firebird or The Judge.

Sunfire, I wouldn't put it past them.
I absolutely hate the weak look of the GTO. The powerplant may be strong the suspension might ride like a beauty, but it's soooo plain looking.
At least this Commodre looks slightly aggressive.

Well I would guess that they wouldn't bring the name of Firebird to it just because I think Chevy is bring out the redesigned Camaro soon. Therefore I'm sure they will have a Firebird to come out shortly after the Camaro! They may bring back the names of Tempest or LeMans or something.

OK sooooooo..... these Holden cars are waaaaaaayyy better looking than any american GM cars. What the heck is GM doing?........ bring that styling to the US and maybe they wouldn't be in such financial trouble.

I find that comment a little strange, coming from someone who lives in a land where car designers lack imagination and will call a square box innovative. Just look at the cars that the US has made over the last 20-30 years. Hardly inspiring.

The new Holden was based on a car already sold in the US anyway

Ill have to see if I can find them again.

The new Commodore's external styling is loosely "based" on the Saturn Aura. Some pics can be found at the following link.
