reversing camera

Just got it all installed.

5.5inch lcd screen with a day/night camera.
Bought from waeco (fridge company for those who dont know it)

http://www.waeco.com.au/products.asp...8&subCatId2=-1

got it for $465.00

Have mounted the camera inside the canopy for now, will move it if not happy with it. Sits just under the high brake light, so I have a great veiw directly behind the tray area.
The screen fits perfectly into the indent area on top of the dash above the radio. Have made a quick cover for it so it looks more like part of the dash, but will have to probally redo it later. Never happy with things I make late at night.
Have ignored the reversing conection for now, just have to hit the power switch to get it going.
Have a clear color veiw behind, at night it is ment to go to black and white infa-red mode, camera hase a ring of LED lights around it, so I will see how that works from inside the canopy.

will post some picks as soon as I have them.

If i dont get another chance ....hope you have a fun safe trip.
Stop into one of those internet cafe's and post some pics along the way

Talking

Ok, please tell us how lazy you are to spend 500 smacks on something, when you already have three mirrors and a rear window.

See if you can borrow a 2 year old kid and put them directly behind your truck and see if your mirrors can see him/her................or better still sit your self behind the truck and tell your wife to go really fast in reverse if she cannot see you

Try hitching up your trailor without getting out to see if you have gone back far enough or having to rely on your wifes useless directions.

Then you will know why we have rear view cameras........yes they dont need to cost that much i paid $120 for camera ,monitor and cables.
