Talking Dobinsons Springs Suspenders

Ok guys I have finally made a choice and gone with the Dobinsons Springs setup.
Guess what I'm waiting for....... front struts!!!!! Their struts have an extra 30mm or so travel over standard which equates to about 50mm at the wheel.
I am using the 380kg constant load rear leafs as the ute is always loaded and I tow regularly.
I was told not to use the front coils (heavy duty 100kg) with the stock strut, so I'm just going to fit the rear suspenders and shocks for now and hope the struts are in very soon. Was told about 2 to 3 weeks, but I've heard that before!!!!!
At least my bum won't be dragging on the ground anymore!!!

Forgot to ask the price again on the struts, from memory about $160 each???? So far has cost $836 for 2 rear springs, 2 front springs, rear shocks (gas) and u-bolts. He threw in the bushes for the fixed eye of the rear leafs, the rear original bushes are split type can be re-used and are apparently really good anyway!
The rear leafs don't have a military wrap like yours but the second leaf does overlap the fixed eye about half way.
No mate I'm not related to your missus, but you wish I was 'cause I'm just a top bloke!

Once you get it done you can call the council to repair all the gouges in the road at the end of your driveway matey

Yeh I think that's why they don't have the wrap on these, I saw others there that did have the military wrap.
Will fit the rears either this weekend or next weekend. Fronts not until I get the struts.

Fitted the rears today. Had to take about 10mm off the wrap to avoid the spring hitting the front eye mount! Plus the supplied rear shocks will not fit! The bottom eye does not line up because the shock body hits the mounting plate! The stroke is also too long would need to lengthen both the brake lines and ABS lines about 100mm minimum. AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!:comp head:
Other than that I've gained about 75mm when fully loaded! Drives alot better already, but needs the heavier shocks.

Told ya not to get dobinsons mate.....there $hit

No you'll sort it out.........the shocks?? are they too thick? its too dark to see what you talking about but mine are fine.
Military wrap on mine was rubbing on the chassy at the front mounting pin.....seems all right now...must off worn a groove.

I haven't checked brake lines or abs they will be pretty tight when extended let me know what you do i will have to do the same.
My springs haven't gone down anything noticeable.....just a fly $hit if anything.

By the way the fronts a lot better now i let some air out of the tyres (still tops out).........I would like to kill who ever pumped them up to 45lbs

Nav your front shocks will always top out, if they don't it's because something else is limiting the travel then. It's just that your new springs have a lot more energy and slam the bottom arm down harder and faster. A stiffer shock will control this better.
Looking at the standard rear shocks (should be used on a billy cart so bloody small!) the fronts are probably very soft.
Would like to use a longer stroke rear shock but have to fit the other gear to make it work.
With the ABS line, if youunhook it from the chassis mounts it will reach a lot further, but the brake line MUST be extended heaps! (only just long enough for the stock shock!)
