Hey pwedta

OK you probably explained this before but i cant find it.
what did you do with your rear springs?
Why do you need to make a new spring seat for the front?
What springs are you using in the front?
Where can i find a link to the prg shocks? all i can find is titan stuff when i google.
Why did you do a double post?

What's this mod. plate???? Is it an RTA thing? So does it involve an engineers certificate?
There's already one in the front. If you've got a really stiff rear it won't do much at all. They also affect your downward travel (reduce articulation) so good on road but adverse off-road.

Then whammo!!!! I can fit a new front shock by Koni with longer travel that will match the front spring. I will take pics once it's done. I will even try and take some shots going offroad at the club grounds and give you an idea of what it's like both on and offroad. I can't wait any longer myself just looking at the parts alone gets me all worked up.

Mod plate might be a QLD thing. I was reading in the latest 4x4 Aust mag and it said that it is legal to lift up to 50mm and after that you require a engineers certificate.
Yes i know theres one in the front but i would like one in the rear because i have some much power in the V6 i get too much body roll when im flying around the corners.

I heard that the south african whacky backy was good but.........Pwedta you are going to have to cut back......perhaps you should send some our way

I've heard that over 50mm is a problem with insurance as well. Mmmmmmmmmm may have to rethink this...... can still adjust the PRG coil overs to 50mm anyway.
Nav, look for the prg coil overs
www.prgproducts.com
Look under frontier. The shocks they show have an external reservoir, but they are internal now. People who have these LOVE them! But they are a bit pricey!!!!
Too much body roll my arse! It's not a Ferrari!!!! And if you wanted power you should have bought the version that runs on cooking oil like mine!!!!
Yeah Pwedta, give that **** to the keffas mate!!!! Otherwise you might fall off that rock ledge in your "Pwedta" pic courteousy of Nav! Have they fixed your beast yet? Go the diesel!!!!! Do you see many lions, zebras and **** where you are?

Tommo if my truck was dragging in the arse end as much as yours i would think it handled like a ferrari to
Just wait till you lift it off the ground mate.
How are you going to get front end suspension $$$$ past the hand brake?

Have you heard of EFS 4WD Suspension my local suspension guy deals in them and has 400kg rear springs with rear big bore long travel shocks as well as 40mm lift front coils using existing front struts. Still waiting for a price but it all looks good quality i had them on my last truck 100000 km/3year warranty.
Unfortunatly there web site is crap.

The reason Pwedta needs that high lift suspension is to out run those rhino's on the way to work.

Yes the hugs and kisses is a major issue, but she knows I need to fix the suspenders anyway

Haven't heard of them mate. There is a mob down here called Wholsale Suspension who can do a similar thing as well. Their website is crap too, might be related!!! My concern with the front is will the stock strut control the harder spring? Sounds like a good idea though and will be a lot cheaper than getting the new strut as well!

Thumbs up

Hi all you wack heads.

There are quite a few game parks close to where I live so you can get to see lions and stuff but the real wilds are a little further, but you pay for access, nothings free, but it is worth the fee. I am matching a shock to the front coil from AC therefore a need for a new spring seat I think its pointless having the stock shock with a longer spring, the articulation will be useless, in other words if you use the stock shock you will gain ride height but the downward travel is lost therefore when going offroad you will be lifting front wheels of the ground most of the time resulting in a lack of traction. I am just a bit busy with work and stuff so time is a bit of an issue at the moment.

Anyone coming to these parts soon?

Regards
Peter

Hey Tommo
Booked it for tomorrow costs $1080, she'll do, cant wait for Pwedta any longer
He's already done a few D40'S and he is highly recomended around my area. Small business like me.
He said the front struts arent a problem as long as you dont go over the 40mm mark and because i dont have a steel bull bar and winch i can have softer springs. If it becomes an issue i will replace them later.
The basic rear shocks all have similar specs 35mm internal 16mm piston shafts 60 mm twin tube..blah.blah.
The rear leafs look like a really good setup.
I will post some pics tomorrow with some measurements

Hi would like to come this christmas but my little rug rat is only goin to be a year and a bit old so will have to postpone for the following year. If I did not have immediate family in South Africa from both my wife's side and mine we would go back for good.
Regard
Peter
