HAHAHA the 'lux boys are dreamin! Just remind them that Toymotor can't get the output from their 3L that Nissan do from a 2.5L, then shove the 5 speed auto in their face and the towing capacity and interior room and just looks in general! And how much did you pay for the Toymotor???

The yanks don't have the diesel? Poor buggas!

Pretty much all that can be said about the DP Chip is on their site. The only quirk I have is that I get a vibration just before the stall converter unlocks. Only happens around 2000rpm or so. I think it's because it holds in top gear a lot longer now before shifting down and the tranny or motor just doesn't like it there! If I could legally do 120kph or more then no probs! Happens around 100kph to 110kph.

Contact Berrima Diesel if you need to ask about the DP Chip. As far as diesels go they are the guns!

Just waiting for a price on the AC kit. New coils front (no spacers) about 2.75" lift, 3 leaf AAL rear available in about 6 weeks lift 2.75" and Rancho adjustable shocks front and rear so I can adjust the dampenig enough to stop hopping but not too hard to jar my backside!

The only drama with the body lift is going to be the 'bar mounts. Worse case I can make the adapter plates myself if the kit ones don't suit.

I will just get the suspension lift for now anyway and go from there if need be!

This kit with the 3 leaf rear.

ARB (Old Man Emu) will have a full suspension kit available mid September, about $1800 fitted with wheel alignment. Complete coil overs front (40mm higher) and new complete leafs in the rear and shocks (60mm higher). It is basically the same setup as the new Hilux.

Thumbs up suspension

Hi Tommo,
I am going to order an AC kit too, but it will be the articulator suspension kit with the Total Chaos arms. The reason for this is that when I had the 2.5inch Calmini kit one of the problems was that the wheel alignment was on its limit and could not be adjusted perfectly the TC arms should correct this.

Regards
Peter

Hey Pete,

Yeh I read about the alignment problem with the stock type of lifts. My only question with the TC arms is if there is a dust boot for that uniball setup? Even though it's teflon coated or whatever would not last lon. Needs to be greased I would have thought!
Just waiting on a price with the 3 AAL setup.
Have you seen the new PRG coil over fronts? Adjustable front coilovers! Pretty penny too. Have to use TC arms with them because can go up to 3". It is along the same lines as the ones offered by AC. Good idea over spacers anyway but more expensive of course.....

Smile suspension

Hi Tommo,
Have seen the coil-overs that PRG sell, they look real good it is just a shame that they cost what they do. I wonder what the ride of those would be? I do go off roading about once a month but the suspension needs to work on road too as the reality is that I have to drive a fair distance on road to get off road. But the biggest problem that I have is that the chassis sits to low in relation to its leangth and I get hung up a lot.

Hey I just noticed your from Sydney, I was born there, my wife and I go back for holidays as often as we can,and love it!

Regards
Peter

Yes mate I know what you mean with the price!?!?!?!?! AND you have to get the TC UCA's on top of that! But yes they do look the goods and I do like the fact that the spring load is adjustable.
Yes the chassis is very long on these things but we have a lot of leg room as a result! lol! Have you put larger tyres on?
Went to ARB the other day. They had a 'Lux with their lift kit in. Even though the "lux looks higher, its transmission hangs a mile below the chassis, almost like it has a body lift kit from the factory! The Navara lift kit is going to follow the same lines as the 'lux lift did which looks ok but not much gain (I 'spose to not need modified UCA, brake lines etc.) Much heavier replacement leafs in the back. Can take leafs out if too stiff.

Howzit

Naah mate the wheels on my Navara are stock. Im sure the Australian Navara also has 17" wheels? I ordered my AC articulator suspension today, I hope there isn't some kind of stuff-up trying to get it shipped to South Africa. I will probably also get a body lift at a later stage to be able to fit a bigger tyre.
How is the situation in Oz regarding 17" tyres for SUV's? The choice here at the moment is fairly limited there are not that many SUV's that have 17" rims.

By the way The Lux sold here has a body lift kit as an option from the factory.
