There is obviously no market for them here its like fosters we just send the crap we dont want to the UK.Lol !

Talk about ugly cars have you seen the new triton haha 3.2 ltr diesel and is still less power than the navara's 2.5 and the v6 has about as much power as the UK holden

sorry - slight misunderstanding - the omega shown was what we USED to get - we now CAN get the same holden you get - 5+ litre v8 or whatever..

I used to be into vauxhalls - took a 1.8 carlton and converted it into a GSE3000... most amusing.. took a 'astramax' (do a google image search) and dropped a 200bhp 2.0 16v engine into it.... etc etc

guy- having relo's in the UK I know what an astramax is.. that'd be a cack! ( ie. very funny!)..

I watched the latest 5th gear the other morning (the wonders of the interweb) and saw the Triton for the 1st time.. EEK!! designed by a blind guy perhaps?!

Twas good the Nav. was faster around the 'rally track' than it

I still have a hankering for Vicki Butler-Henderson that I haven't been able to get rid of since she was on Top Gear back in the 90's... ..

Hey All
I stopped by Mitsubishi today. The new triton looks even worse close up.
Interier is simular to the hilux, but uglier, less space,no lumber suportor height adjustment on the drivers seat. The rear seat looks more comfortable but it is bolted to the floor so it wont fold up or split fold and there is not enough leg room for anyone over 5".
The tray is smaller and is further past the rear wheel so you would not be able to put on a alloy tray (no good for the tradies). The rear springs which are supposed to carry 1 ton, look like they were hacked together with little spaces (very messy).
Basically they look like complete crap ,cant wait to take one for a burn so i can tell the dealer Lol!

Hi all!

This thread seems to have gone off the rails a little! lol! Back to the question, has anyone seen a decent suspension lift yet?

I'm not too keen on the front spacer idea (although it is cheap and easy to fit) but nearly everyone complains that the Upper c/a hits the spring bucket! I have been in contact with Calmini they have assured me that the 2" kit will not cause this problem?!?! If you try to fit the 2wd version to the 4wd it will definitely hit because those spacers are taller.

Ironman will have a kit in a couple of months. It will be $1130 for a constant load kit (I am a tradie) and give 35mm lift in the front and 45mm lift in the rear. They haven't said whatthe kit consists of.

Have been talking with AC 4x4 Parts. To be honest their system does seem to be the best thought out (particulalry for the price). They also have a 3" body lift which will suit, except for the bull bar adaptors because apparently the US attach their bars different than in Oz. I am waiting to hear back about that solution. It is very well priced too!

Can anyone tell me the actual front lift the AC spring kit gives in the front? It doesn't actually state on their site.

Without changing the sub frame (aka Calmini and SLR kits) I think that we are resticted to about 2" lift in the front the stock setup. After that we start the banging and bashing.

AC 4x4 will also have the 3 leaf adda leaf kit in about 4 to 6 weeks, which I desperately need. The Load Plus kit is not enough!

Any thoughts or other suggestions would be much appreciated. There is probably something out there I haven't seen yet just to add to my confusion!?!?!?!

It looks like we will have to wait a couple of months to see what tough dog, ironman and old man emu have to offer.

Im a tradie to (plumber) how are you carting your tools around did you get an alloy tray or tow a trailor ?

Hey Navara-au, goin great!

Have you done any other mods apart from the tray?

It's funny how all other tradies drool over these things when you pull up on site....... "Too good for a work ute" or " I want one!" is common.

I cart all the tools in boxes I had made up. The tray is a Tip Top 1860 x 1860. The boxes are 1200L x 550W x 900H (?) with adjustable shelves. Will post a pic soon. I do all types of automation fitting (gates, booms, shopfronts etc) and also garage doors. I manage to get most doors on the racks. If not I have a 12' x 6' trailer which is 800kg empty! (has high walls)

Last time I was talking to the rep at the ARB Moorebank branch he said the hold up on the lift kit was to do with the front axles (?) he didn't really go into it.

My guess would be they are going to have replacement coil spring/shock combos and leaf replacement rears. The mind boggles really at what else can be done? (Apart from the cross member kits from Calmini and SLR) The front is definitely the limiting factor being a strut type and also you don't want the front cv's to run on a steep angle.

This is why I am more inclined to not go overboard with the suspension lift, but rather raise the body and put on bigger hoops. This seems to be the most practical for the suspension setup we have. There's definitely enough torque to turn the bigger hoops! I have a DP Chip, they make a big difference!

Have you guys done anything to boost performance at all?

I like the idea of the Scan Guage, it's a shame the Navara doesn't share the Pathfinder "gadgetry" I'd love to see what km/L it's doing at different times. Then there's the split air-con, wanky rear view mirror and the tiptronic style auto!

Gday to Calanmoss! How ya doin? Why the long wait? There are plenty on the showroom floors here!

Still waitng on a few more answers from AC 4x4 about their suspension lift and body lift. I haven't seen anyone on a lot of forums who has major complaints about the AC system. I think I have written off the front spacer idea, just sounds too dodgy with the number of complaints. By the time you get the front spacer/shackle or block kits, then have to get the Caos Upper Control arms to stop the banging, you might as well get the Calmini 5" lift kit which is a lot better!

hey tommo
This is a great site for info .you'll have to say gday to the yanks in the new members column at some stage.
frotiers dont have diesels.
As for mod chips, your the only aussie on this thread with one so do a write up in the nav mod thread.
I had the local spring works beef up the rear springs so now even with 1/2 a tonne of wait it is 80mm higher than standard at the tow ball.(but as stiff as all hell)just a mater of wait and see what the manufactures come up with as far as suspension goes.

As far as other drooling you still get the smart *** luxy drivers having a dig(just jellus) lol
hey keep on posting its great fun and keeps me of the streets
