That would be the Hippo Pwedta!
I sent PRG another email about 2 weeks ago and the lady replied at that time saying that she was trying to find a shipping price..... how long does it take???????
Anyway I have decided not to go that high, as Nav said you run into other probs and will also need to extend the brake and ABS lines.
Have been hasseling the **** outa ARB now for the OME system, they are waiting on the front strut, everything else is done. As soon as it is available they will be installing on their D40 at the Moorebank branch. Will have a look! They calculated $2080 installed. I think I will just get the gear trade and do it myself. (if the price is right!)
Have a good time on your trek Pwedta! I'm jealous! I don't even get time to go to the corner shop at the moment! And don't go drinkin' too much VB and smokin' those Winny Reds mate. Look after that mullet!

Hi Tommo us Aussies are on the ball, your right it's a hippo most people would've thought lion or crocodile. Hey the a-arms, rear spring & shock are in, just waiting a couple more days for front shocks. All the parts so far fit perfect with the exception of the rear brake lines but thats my fault for not noticing that the Frontiers have disks in the back.

The new suspension is great!
Handles better, rides a little more bouncy but that is how 4x's are meant to be.
The only problem is the "Military Wrap" on the leaf springs seems to be rubbing on the chassey on the front fixed pin. Isnt quite enough space.
It is only doing it on one side and a bit of WD40 helps will take it back when i have more time.
AND TOMMO dont add any leafs extra on that will tighten the springs up too much the 300kg loaded springs are working fine if OME have 400kg that will be more than enough for you.

Hey Pwedtado you think we need the longer brake hose's on the rear? seems to be alot of slack still?? i dont know i better check.
Hope those Cape Town dicks get it finished in time mate.

If you've got slack at full droop mate you'll be right. With the front suspenders just check at full droop AND full steering lock left to right.

Hi Tommo, Nav, you need to jack a wheel off of the ground then check how much slack is left in the rear brake lines, I needed to have new lines made cause the rancho shocks gave more droop than the stock shock and pulled the lines tight.

Thanks Tommo will enjoy the trip. Hey I support any team that plays against the boks.
Regards
Peter

Yes Pwedta, but they beat the All Blacks, and at the moment that is a good thing. You can't let those sheep f%$#&'rs win at everything!
Do you have any pics of what's been done so far Pwedta?

Question about the front struts
If i jack up one wheel from the cross brace under the sump the wheel doesn't drop far till it's off the ground.
If i put longer travel struts will the spring become decompressed if it travels more?
The A-arm will hit the bucket aswell there is only a 10mm gap?
Will it pull on the C.V. jionts when it drops?
Will the OME struts be longer travelling?

Let me know if my questions dont make sense im just a dumb plumber who chews his finger nails LOL!

Ok, a longer strut will increase droop. Your spring should NOT become decompressed or you'll have big problems!!!! there should be a fair bit of preload in the springs to go at least another 75 to 100mm or so. Yes your UCA will hit the coil bucket, but if you are a money bags like Pwedta you would have the TC UCA's which help eliminate this from happening. I don't know if the OME struts are the same or longer than stock mate, can't even get an answer on that from ARB! I bet they will be the same. You would have to look at the angle of the CV, they are very short so even a marginal increase will cause a lot of angle to appear (but only when wheel is at full droop)
One other question I keep meaning to ask you, where have you put your second (duel) battery???

Thanks Tommo
Duel batteries
I did the handy man elcheapo version.
Ran a 8mm cable from the battery with fuse and circut breaker to a anderson plug under the tray (so i can plug in boat winch aswell) cost about $40
Installed the 100amp battery isolator in one of the under tray tool boxs it came with 8mm cables for power and earth put anderson plug on the power feed (just plug it in as i need it) comes with power and earth cables for the battery as well just coil them away when not using. kit cost about $100 from "super cheap auto"
Bought a battery box with external terminals and 2 x cigarette out lets cost $50 (can use it in the boat aswell)
(just tie it down in the back tray as i need it)
Just need a battery then
I use it for the caravan and as a back up battery.

Hey what do you think off BigJ idea of 1 1/2" rubber stopper in the front?
AC Lift and Bfg's done
