Might just throw some new shocks on, the originals are as thick as your little finger. Height not bad as standard. Really want to set it up as a tourer, not a rock hopper. Standard tyres are 265/70/16 Bridgestone D693 All terrains on 16x7 rims. Haven't managed to get them to rub at full travel. 4wd Monthly the D22 got the best RTI up the travel ramp of all the IFS utes, even better than a 100series IFS cruiser. So much to do, build storage system for back, long range tank, dual battery, driving lights etc
so little cash . Want to travel throught western NSW and do the Flinders next year.
Hey navman
I agree (except for the 4wd monthly crap ) If the standard rear springs can manage the weight why upgrade. I needed to on mine and the front springs i used to level everything off with. Its just pathetic the size of the standard shocks.
I cant belive the price they sell suspension here in oz i see in american ebay you can get a full kit using "iron man suspension" for a D22 at $400 U.S.
I had the D693's on my hilux did over 80000 kms and it still had plenty of tread i thought they were good tyre's and will get them again or the new D694'S
Have you seen the duel battery kit on ebay for the D22? looks pretty good.

Hey Navman
The reason the D22 wasn't included was that they didn't want to push the new Hilux further down the list!!!
I'd just wind up the front torsio bars like you are too unless you need a stiffer bar to offset a steel bar and winch.

Hey navara-au, Tommo
Have seen the dual Batttery kit on ebay looks good, only fits a small battery, all ready have a piranha isolater, just need a battery tray, fair bit of relocating required, eg fuel filter. Might locate the 2nd battery in tray, opposite lock have a great set , pricey thou. Or get a waeco portable power pack for the fridge. The rear springs are supposed to carry a tonne, long range tank 125lts=125kg-75lt standard tank=50kg, = 50kg water tank, fridge, camping gear, 2nd spare tyre etc shouldn't be any where near a tonne, new shockies might be the go.
Tommo might wide the torsion bars up a tad, got a steel bar, but not fitting a winch, just a couple of lights ana a UHF ariel.

The Holden Rodeo isn't actually made by Holden is it? Just a rebadged Vauxhall? Im surprised to see it below Ford Courier. Great to see the Navara at the top!

Hey navman, the waeco portable power pack you speak of, do you have an idea for how long one could run a fridge off of it? I have a waeco fridge and was thinking of running the fridge off of a power pack when the truck in not running (use cigarette lighter socket for power when traveling). I would go the route of duell batteries but I dont trust the intalation guys very much.
Regards
Peter
