i can see the flames from my house. being a wanna-be firefighter its a cool sight, but at the same time i feel bad for the people who have lost their homes... well some of them i don't... like the people that build their houses on the side of a hill surrounded by brush that burns every 15 years... thats just being crazy and they lost this roll of the dice.

I'm in the next city over from one of the fires, and ashes falling like a snowstorm nonstop.

I'm heading into work tomorrow and I'm wondering if I'll have to go to any of them for a strike team. My station is on strike team rotation, I am a firefighter for San Bernardino county, if i go i will update how it is being out there staring down at the beast!!!

where ya at, our cabin is in San Bernardino county. though I dont think the fires have been close since last year

I work in Victorville, not really close to the fires but i still might have to go, i wont know until tomorrow though i will update if i go. (whatever happened to fire season? its friggin all year now)

tell me about it...I just evacuated last month cause of the Porter Ranch fire now there's another in Sylmar which is a few cities over! Plus all those fires in the IE too

Well the wife went down 3am sunday, she is a purchasing agent not on a strike team.

Did my time as a dozer hand on fires as a youngster, I don't care if I never do it again.
